Alton Runners are pleased to announce the Chawton House Challenge.

The race is being held in aid of Alton Cardiac Rehab centre and Chawton House who are celebrating their 20th anniversary since the house was opened to the public.

Date: 8th October 2023

LOCATION:  Races start and finish in Chawton House, Chawton, Alton, GU34 1SJ

ONLINE ENTRY:

Online entries have now closed. Entries will be available on the day.

COURSES:  

The terrain is a mixture of grass and tracks which are mainly in the grounds of Chawton House. The start and finish will be in Chawton House. Please follow marshals directions. This course is not suitable for wheelchair athletes.

Previews: Please do not run the course before the event. Part of the course runs over private land which is normally closed to the public – the owners allow runners on their land only for the race.

Start Times:  

2k (Fancy Dress) start 11:00am – on the day entry only

10K Chawton House Challenge   11.45am - entry includes entrance to Chawton House Gardens

3K Well Being Walk  12pm - on the day entry

Age Limits
10K Race: 13 years or over on race day.
2K Race: 4 years or over on race day. 

PARKING

Parking will at Chawton House at £5 per car (Includes free Tea/Coffee for the driver) with all proceeds going to Chawton House. Please do not park in Chawton Village. 

CHANGING

There will be no changing available please come dressed to run.

TOILETS

There are toilets available.

RUNNING NUMBERS

No numbers will be sent out before the day. Please arrive in good time to collect your running number at the Registration Desk which will close at 10.45.

Please wear your number pinned to the front of your vest.

DOGS

Dogs are not allowed on the course

TROPHIES & PRIZES

All finishers of either race will receive a commemorative medal.  In addition the following awards will be made to the winners and runners up:

10K Race:

Trophies to the winning man and woman and second and third plus to the first in each categories:

Men: Snr, 40+, 50+, 60+

Women: Snr, 40+, 50+, 60+

2K Fancy Dress:

Children race will have medals for all and certificates for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd boys and girls.
