Since its formation in 1981, Alton Runners has presented annual awards to recognise members for their athletic achievements, dedication, and volunteering efforts. The Runner of the Year was the first award introduced.
In 1986, the Men's Road Race Championship trophy was introduced, followed by the Women's Road Race Championship in 1988. These trophies recognise top performances in the Hampshire Road Race League (HRRL). The 2024 trophies will reflect results from the 2023/24 season.
Over the years, age group championships were added. Initially, members could compete in their own or younger age groups. In 2020, Senior Trophies were introduced for men under 40 and women under 35, while the overall championship remained open to all. In 2023, the Committee ruled that veteran trophies must be won by members in the relevant age category (e.g., MV60 for ages 60–69).
The Cross Country Championships for men and women were added in 2013, recognising performances in the Southern Cross Country League.
The Roger Sayer Member of the Year award was introduced in 2020, celebrating contributions to the club. In 2023, the Harinder Boparai Volunteer of the Year shield was established in memory of Harinder, who was a dedicated volunteer coordinator and key club member.
