Location:  Races start and finish in ANSTEY PARK, ALTON, at the eastern end of the main road through Alton. Post code GU34 2RL

Courses:  

The terrain is a mixture of grass, roads and tracks with some quite steep hills. The start and finish will be in Anstey Park. The 5k Challenge starts 5 minutes after the main 10k event. Please follow marshals directions. This course is not suitable for wheelchair athletes.

Previews: Please do not run the course before the event. Part of the course runs over private land which is normally closed to the public – the owners allow runners on their land only for the race.

Start Times:  

500m start 9:45am – on the day entry only

1k start 10:00am – on the day entry only

10K Downland Challenge   10.30am

5K Downland Lesser Challenge  10.35am

Age Limits
10K Race: 15 years or over on race day.
5K Race: 10 years or over on race day. 

PARKING

There will be parking in Alton School, Anstey Lane. There is also parking available at the  Health Centre (400 metres along Anstey Road towards the town centre) which has about 100 parking spaces at the rear.

CHANGING

There  are very limited changing facilities at Anstey Park. Come changed and ready to run if possible. There will be no showers.

TOILETS

There are both men’s and women’s toilets in the Scouts HQ, the British Legion HQ, the Finnimore Pavilion and the Rugby Club. They will be clearly marked.

RUNNING NUMBERS

No numbers will be sent out before the day. Please arrive in good time to collect your running number at the Registration Desk which will close at 10.15.

Please wear your number pinned to the front of your vest.

DOGS

Dogs are not allowed on the course

RESULTS

The results will be posted on the website – www.altonrunners.co.uk – within 24 hours.

TROPHIES & PRIZES

All finishers of either race will receive a commemorative medal.  In addition  the following awards will be made to the winners and runners up:

10K Race:

Trophies to the winning man and woman and to the first three in each categories:

Men: Senior, 40+, 50+, 60+

Women: Senior, 35+, 45+, 55+

5K Race:

Special medals to the first three in the following categories:

Boys aged 10 to 12 and 13 to 15

Girls aged 10 to 12 and 13 to 15

School Trophy for first 5 boys and 3 girls

1st Adult Male and 1st Adult Female
